London Based Makeup Artist My work shows personal creative vision and an eye for detail. The common place and 'ugly' parts of daily life are where I source inspiration from creating an element of the mundane within transcendent beauty. This element allows my work to translate into the real world as well as generating a lasting emotional impact. Being a Queer Alternative Indian Woman gives me a fresh perspective on beauty. Being of South Asian heritage has allowed me to intrinsically consume a vibrant use of colours and techniques balanced with my attraction to the alternative sub-cultures. My identity is a driving force behind changing the way LGBTQIA+, POC, and women are depicted in society's media and beauty standards. This has produced my unique mindset and vision towards beauty. The love I have towards my craft wasn't born out of want rather than need. Having a creative outlet has been instrumental to managing my own mental health and is my personal driving force. Developing and refining myself is a constant process that extremely passionate about and extremely eager to assist other industry professionals. I am a mentee of the Mentoring Matters scheme which includes 6 months spent working closely with Georgina Graham to guide my practices and give me a greater insight into how makeup artist roles works. I have spent 3 months interning with Thomas De Kluyver gathering valuable knowledge of the inner workings for the industry. Ive also had the pleasure to assist artists such as Crystabel Riley, Rebecca Davenport, Elaine Lynskey, Alice Dodds, Lucy Bridge, Isamaya Ffrench, David Gillers, Emily Wood and Clare Read.
